Construction
The construction of Canyon Dam began in 1958 and was completed in 1964. The dam was built on the Guadalupe River to control potential flooding downstream.
Recreation: Beyond its primary functions, the USACE also developed recreational areas around the lake. Today, there are several parks around the lake that offer camping, boating, fishing, and other recreational activities.
Management: The USACE continues to manage the dam and the reservoir, ensuring its safety and functionality.
